Q: Is there any special equipment required?

#BTX is about the entire strength and conditioning continuum, so there’s a lot of variety. That said, it’s all traditional gym equipment: DB’s, BB’s, KB’s, standard machines (like a leg curl and a cable column), med balls, row machine, stationary bike, etc. We do have some sledge hammer work in Phase 4, but if you don’t have access to a sledge, you can easily replace with a cable chop (not as awesome, but a solid substitution.) The same holds true for all of the exercises…simple substitutions that mimic the same movement pattern will do the trick.

Q: You mention that you’ve done some research for #BTX? Can you tell me more about that?

We did a lot of research on residual training effects for different motor abilities. In other words, what type of training plays nicely with what other types of training. We also researched a lot on motor programming and re-programming – basically how we get good at stuff.

Q: Can you get a little more specific about the programming?

#BTX is divided into 5 meso-phases. Each phase has a strength focus and an energy system focus. For example, Phase 1 is about structural balance and establishing an aerobic foundation. The Background Story of Our 7 Exercise Fast Body Changing Blueprint…

During a lot of testing and study we found in our bootcamps and with private clients that an optimal mix of 7 non-competing exercises (think different body parts) mixed with a blend of compound exercises (higher calorie burning exercise) as well as specific timing ‘tweaks’ led to a fast and fully effective series of workouts that changed people’s bodies and saved huge amounts of time.

By altering the time under tension and exertion time of all exercises in a circuit the metabolic effect improved dramatically.

Re-ordering exercises from standard workout protocols to sensibly create a new exercise selection order allowed rest for specific muscles and forced others to act as stabilizers – increasing isometric tension on adjacent muscles.

Strategically mixing compound exercises 9multiple muscles working) with isolation exercises (specific muscle focus) allowed removal of overuse injuries found with misbalanced workout plans.

Planning for continual speed through a circuit or exercises allowed huge time saving in a session. As well as improving muscle efficiency.

Specific switching between active and moving exercise with isolated or static moves allowed more comfort during the workouts without negative effect on muscle activation or stimulation.

Not only were these new fast workouts saving huge chunks of my clients time they were also allowing them to quickly understand a new exercise approach that they could fit into their busy schedules – easily. 

These workouts were becoming highly effective in a our new structured program that was very easy to follow.

It occurred to me that this was as close to real fitness freedom as I’d got.

The Final Word:  The Sad Reality of Over Training

Over-training (both in intensity and in duration) can push the body’s stress response too far.  This can lead to an explosion of those negative chemical responses in your body that lead to both long and short term health problems.

High stress in our bodies can lead to many issues from Hypothyroidism to adrenal fatigue.  Over-training is a clear form of high stress.

But its done by choice.  If you don’t want to you don’t have to over-train.  You simply need to train smart.

Remember Cortisol is the hormone released when our bodies are under stress.

Heavy resistance training and doing too much has been shown to stimulate and spike cortisol responses that lead to a variety of disorders such as joint, tendon and ligament damage, memory impairment, digestive problems, sleep issues, fat storage in problem areas, impaired recovery and muscular regeneration and weight gain.  And a lot of times that weight gain is around the abdomen and hips and thighs – something none of us want.

This is pretty far from that euphoric endorphin release you may have heard people discuss as a great side effect of correct exercise and working out.

It’s not about simply working out.  It’s about working out smarter and in less time to experience for yourself the real benefits of exercise.

You see there really is no need or sensible reason to train so hard and for so long that we almost intentionally stimulate Cortisol and damage our joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Short intense workouts have been shown to be great for inducing fat loss and raising aerobic capacity as well as reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

And in turn these quick and effective workouts elevate mood by the correct stimulation and release of those endorphins during less demanding and more effective workout structure.

A: You can use these fast plug-in workouts any time you like.  The very fact they’re so quick and effective, and designed to be plugged right into your busy schedule means you can do them whenever suits you.

Q: Is Short Circuit Fat Loss designed to be used successfully by both men and women? Or is it gender specific?

A:  No, it’s not gender specific.  It’s created for any person regardless of gender.  I train both men and women of all ages and have put together workouts using exercises that were liked by both men and women but more importantly were the most effective ones for either gender.  I’ve also redesigned the entire workout artwork and products to female or male styled design packs.

Q: Can the program and its workouts be used over and over, or should I only go through it one time?

A:  You can go through the program and all workouts as many times as you wish.  They’re designed to be used over and over – there is a great choice and variety so you’ll not get bored and your body won’t hit plateaus.  I personally used them over and over with my clients and randomize the workouts to give fresh variety.  I just don’t recommend the same workouts back-to-back.  However, you can follow the workout plans in the system to have a more structured plan or simply use any workout on the go when time is really limited.

A:  The exercises range and vary from very basic to what would be considered challenging.  In any workout you will want to aim for exercise progression (meaning you will progress into more challenging exercises once you master the basics) so the beginner workouts will be a great start and allow a first time trainee to build a good base of strength, co-ordination and muscle control then move into more challenging exercises.  Short Circuit Fat Loss is designed to progress a trainee correctly but of course advanced fitness enthusiasts can simply opt to work immediately with the tougher workouts structure.  Bear in mind, even though some workouts may contain what an advanced trainee rightly assumes are basic exercises, the advanced workout structure and progressions will have even the fittest person facing a great and effective workout challenge.

Q: Why is this program different from other workouts programs?

Unfortunately, we don’t get much of our
information from reliable, impartial sources.

All
too often, the way we approach dieting and losing weight is through advice and information that
we’ve been told works by companies that are actually selling diet products to us.

Many of the myths around today were
created by these companies.

So
once and for all, I’d like to tell you the truth about why you haven’t managed to find a workable
solution to rapid weight loss and to do this, I’m going to explain the facts about 5 of the biggest
weight loss myths there are out there…

Weight Loss Myth #1 – Diet Foods Help You
Lose Weight

This
one is a real killer. Again it’s a triumph of marketing and hype over truth. Let me
give you a couple of examples.

Just because a chocolate dessert or a packet
of biscuits is classed as low fat, it doesn’t mean it’s actually any good for you.
Yes it probably is lower in fat than its regular alternative, but it’s also full of other
ingredients that are actually much worse than the fat that was in it.

Makers of these products, emphasise the lack
of fat in their products but hide the fact that to make them taste better, they’ve had to replace the fat with sugars. They’ll do it
cleverly, by breaking the sugars down in to various forms… sucrose, fructose, glucose syrup.
Glycerine etc, the list goes on.

But
the problem with sugar is that every time you eat something that has sugars in it, the body
has to produce a hormone called Insulin. Insulin’s job is to remove the sugar from the blood and
take it to the cells. Unfortunately when insulin is produced, it doesn’t always remove the exact
right amount of sugar from the blood.

It
creates a low in blood sugar levels, which then sends a signal to your brain to eat
more in order to normalise blood sugar levels again.

Another problem is that we’ve been
conditioned to believe that ‘diet’ foods actually help us to lose weight. You’ll have seen
it yourself when someone orders a big Mac and fries, but insists on getting a diet Cola to go with
it!

Most diet foods are created by huge
multi-million dollar companies that want your money. They play around with and process your
foods adding all kinds of rubbish just to make it appealing for you to buy, because you think it’s
going to help you to lose weight.

Processed foods will never help you to lose
weight, there’s too much junk inside for your body to cope with, so stay away from them as much
as possible.

Weight Loss Myth #2 – Eat Just 3 Square
Meals a Day

This time it’s probably your parents fault and their parents before them… You
see there are a few reasons why eating at certain times throughout the day just isn’t
right.

Firstly you aren’t necessarily hungry at the
times that you have to eat. This means that you may be eating for the sake of it and getting
more calories than you need each day.

Secondly if you can only eat at certain times
throughout the day, because of your work pattern for example, then you may go for hours without
being able to eat anything and this slows down your metabolic rate and encourages your body to
store fat.

One
of the biggest problems with eating in the traditional way is that your metabolic rate
slows right down. You’ll burn calories at a snails pace because there are too long gaps
between meals.

Eating smaller amounts regularly
throughout the day does two things…

1.  It keeps the metabolism revving away
and

2.  It stops the body from storing as
many of the calories you are eating. Over a period of time, your body gets used to the regular
supply of calories and realises that it doesn’t need to store as many of them as there isn’t
likely to be times when it won’t get food.

Finally, it’s likely that you’re overeating if you depend on
eating 3 set meals a day as the gaps between them will lead to hunger pangs and cravings.
When you start getting these messages from the brain, you’ll usually eat more than you need to
do.

Weight Loss Myth #3 – Reducing the
Calories You Eat Makes You Lose Weight and the Fewer Calories You Eat Then the More Weight
You’ll Lose

Sounds logical doesn’t it, and up to a point
this is actually true BUT if this was completely right then surely the more you reduced the
calories you were eating, then the faster you’d lose weight.

But this just doesn’t happen,
you’ll know it yourself if you’ve ever tried restricting the amount of food you eat so low. The
weight comes off pretty fast to begin with but after a few days, you can’t seem to lose any more,
you quickly reach a plateau.

Here’s the real kicker, doing this means
you’re actually making things worse for yourself and compounding the problem.

The
reason is that your body gets thrown in to what it perceives as starvation and goes in to survival
mode. When you’re in survival mode, your body just won’t
release fat to burn. It can’t, in fact it does the complete opposite and actually holds on to it,
by producing a hormone called Leptin.

But
that’s not all, some of the other downsides you’ll notice are…

A slowdown in your metabolic
rate. This is the speed at which you burn calories. You see when food intake is
strictly limited, your body will always try to protect itself by holding on to its energy
stores… your body fat!

Increased cravings. Your body
knows it needs calories to survive and as a response your fat cells produce a hormone
called Leptin which increases your cravings for guess what? You’ve guessed it…
calories. Usually in the form of high sugar or high fat foods, because it’s these types of
foods that will give you the biggest surge in quick fix calories.

An increase in the amount of fat you
store. If your body isn’t sure when it’s next going to be fed don’t you think it’s
natural to store as many calories as possible to keep your body working normally.

Think of yourself like a camel, it’s hump is
almost totally pure fat to help it survive the lean times, it’s there to provide a reserve source
of energy… well our bodies can be a bit like this too if we cut down on calories too much
for too long, only your hump won’t be at the back!

Weight Loss Myth #4 – Think
You’ll Get a
Flat Stomach
By Doing
Sit Ups,
Crunches or Some
Other SECRET Exercise
That No
Ones Been
Telling You
About?

Think
again, it just doesn’t work that way.

Crunches, sit ups and other tummy toning
exercises are great to do, but the benefits they give you have nothing to do with getting a
chiselled torso. So why does everyone think that they do?

Simple, you’ve been lied to again.
Infomercials and the media, manipulate our understanding of exactly what certain exercises can
really do for you.

Let
me explain it this way…

Imagine that you have a fine porcelain vase,
but it’s been covered in bubble wrap and brown paper. Covered this way means that you’ll never see
the real beauty of the vase because it’s been hidden underneath a thick ugly layer of
padding.

That’s how it is with your own tummy
muscles.

You’ll never see them or flatten your
tummy by doing these types of exercises alone. In fact done to extreme, they may
actually lead to an increase in the size of your tummy, because the muscles can slightly increase
in size, pushing the fat underneath out still further.

I’m
not saying don’t do exercises for your stomach and lower back, because they help to improve posture
and overall strength, just don’t expect to have a really
flat stomach after religiously doing them for weeks… you’ll only be
disappointed.

Weight Loss Myth #5 – Hours of Cardio
Burns the Most
Fat

This makes me really laugh, especially when I
see ‘supposed experts’ advising you to exercise at a particular heart beat level called the
weight loss zone.

The
theory here is that at a certain level of effort, your body will burn more fat than
carbohydrates as it’s main fuel source, but it’s only a slight difference and to get the same
benefit you’d need to keep going for much longer.

Behavior is driven by Emotion,NOT Logic. This is fundamental to everything, including understanding toddler behavior. Behavior, for any person of any age, is determined by their emotional state. People ACT from their emotions, and they later JUSTIFY their actions with logic. But small kids don’t have the ability to use logic, so they act purely from emotion. Keep this in mind when dealing with behavior in toddlers.

We tend to overuse the word “No” when we talk to our kids.This causes problems with toddler behavior. You remember the story of the boy who cried wolf, right? The little shepherd boy was bored while watching the sheep so he decided to cry wolf and make the villagers come running. Before long, they stopped responding to his false cries. When a parent cries “No” at every little thing, kids stop listening. The parent’s cries fade into the background. Behaviour problems in children can stem from this caveat. I’ll teach you multiple ways to get what you want without screaming “NO” at your child – and it simply works better!

If you want to have any chance at all of influencing your toddler’s behavior, you MUST have rapport first.Rapport simply means having an emotional connection to another person. I’ll show you how you can learn LOTS of ways to create this crucial emotional bridge before you deal with children behaviour problems.

Make sure you check your “bulk”, “junk” or “spam” folders. Sometimes emails get mistakenly filtered.

I Don’t Know What To Say…

This is the biggest response I hear most individuals say; “I don’t know what to say”. They want to create EFT Scripts, they want to release negative emotions, but in the end it seems so difficult they simply remain stuck trying to come up with Scripts.

I agree that for the most part scripting can seem very intimidating.. So when you couple that with your own expectations, whilst feeling all these negative emotions, it’s no wonder many individuals find themselves stuck long before they even begin.

What If I Say The Wrong Things ?

This is one of the second biggest reason many individuals remain frozen when it comes to creating EFT Scripts. They fear that if they end up saying the wrong things they will end up doing more harm then good.

They fear that because they have not received any training in EFT that they would end up in a worse situation then before they began. This most definitely stops many individuals releasing out of pure fear of the unknown.

The problem is that humans are always trying to over-complicate everything. However many times the answer to a problem lay in a simple solution or idea.

Lets take the humble shopping trolley, it came about because a store owner whilst watching his clients select products from his shelves wondered how he could make them purchase more. He solved this by putting some wheels on a basket…  

Beer held the answer to modern vaccines, this beverage that has been around for thousands of years can be accredited as being the catalyst to modern vaccines. A chemist who whilst trying to solve why beer sometimes went bad discovered that small microscopic creatures were the cause, and after some additional probing he discovered similar creatures also effected us and this whole new science opened the doors to vaccines and modern medical science.

EFT has been shrouded in an air of complexity sense it was first discovered and used over 30 years ago. From then to now it has certainly evolved into one of the world’s leading solutions for the releasing of negative emotions. In fact EFT is so successful that it is making headway where psychology has only dreamed of going, enabling many hundreds of individuals the opportunity to release emotional trauma where 20 or 30 years of psychology had failed them. However the one area which has been overlooked is the construction of the EFT Script itself.

Fast forward to present day I discovered that the same issues that plagued the past 30 years still exist today. As I set about helping many hundreds of individuals overcome mountains of negative emotions I found that the same set of problems were being experienced by almost everyone I came in contact with.  Over this time I constantly heard the same comments over and over from client after client who expressed how difficult they found EFT to do by themselves. This prompted me to look for a way to overcome the issue without messing around with the EFT process. My idea was that I had to come up with a way to enable anyone from any walk of life the ability to create personal scripts, and to be able to do this without any help.

I had a head start on this as I had to overcome some of these same problems many years previous when I first started on my own journey, long before I became an EFT Practitioner. In fact in my early days I came up with a method of scripting that could not be considered real EFT Scripting, as this simple process has nothing to do with EFT at all. I knew that this method had worked for me time and time again and all I had to do was to figure out how to teach this to others..

So I revisited this process refining it further, and what I soon discovered was that anyone with a pen and paper could be taught to script with this method. Even if an individual knew nothing about EFT, he or she could be creating scripts and releasing in minutes. Conventional Scripting in the common format becomes a by product of the process and not the main feature. In fact scripting has very little to do with this method until you begin to tap.

I discovered after sharing this process with clients that all their anxiety about scripting seemed to instantly fade away, and the end result was that those who previously said they could not script were now scripting and releasing on their own. Thus the Pen and Paper Method™ of Scripting was born.
